So you don't think the issue could be caused by another module in the car telling the infotainment to wake up then?
Thats a tricky part but you can check it by disabling ignition logic in radio and check than if it still draws than cim etc can be excluded from list otherwise it works like
Cim - wake up signal- radio screen etc

Remember one funny thing in vivaro 08 with cd30 and tid
Radio was off but screen was on but it wasnt displaying anything as one of fuses was blown by chart fuse wasnt related to infotaiment just marked with battery mark

So if I disable ign logic and it still draws current then then CIM isn't at fault? If it doesn't draw current, then the CIM maybe faulty?

One thing we noticed is that with the HU physically disconnected it still woke up every 15 mins but just demanded less current. Down from 700mA to 400mA. So I'd assume the screen has something to do with it.

Do you know if the Astras have this battery fuse like the vivaros? If it's something that will only take 2 mins to check I'm up for that!

here you go screen and radio
      https://mega.nz/#!8BNSVK6L!G6gjFrSj-...OA4-VFE7TdJm1M

not much fuses to pull out
to disconect screen from cim in case if cim is waking it up remove low speed can wires pin 25 and 28 than cim wont comunicate with screen
if any questions about wiring let me know

and forgot to say if ignition logic is disabled radio wont turn on but screen still comes on

Excellent, thanks for this Dom. I'll have play with it probably later today, if not it will be next weekend now. It's really appreciated though!

      Quick question.
I assume these diagrams are mainly generic? As they look to refer to a CD70 / GID etc.. I guess the wiring is already there though from the factory, but depending on the specific set up, those wires aren't used?

Yes they are vx wirings and are same for all screens radios
If wire isnt present than its not used
In radio wiring you will find couple of wires going to display but they are for cd70/dvd90 video signal and are not used in cd30
If cant figure out something let me know will find it out for you

I've taken the BID out to take a look at it and what I've noticed is that the screen is a Johnson Controls screen (never seen one of these on eBay for a H at all, all are Delphi Grundig) plus the Ident is BR and according to my copy of EPC, the screen that should be in the car is a UA. I doubt this will make any difference at all, just seems weird why this is the case. Are there any key differences between these 2 screens?

I've not had chance to remove those 2 CANbus wires you mentioned Dom, it was getting dark and was chucking it down outside so didn't fancy standing there with the multimeter trying to see if this was the cause. I'll do that next weekend if the weather is any better.
