Astra H lost key and car deadlocked

Hi ok so heres the story my bro-in-law lost his one and only key and also had no key card, we called VX and ordered new key and key card. Key arrived today but wont unlock the car so either VX has funked up or the locks have been changed in the past. Going to ring them and send a pic of key for them to check. My question is how difficult is it to get into the car and get the barrel out the ignition without 1. Damaging the igntion barrel or housing 2. Have to smash the windows. As a lock smith wants £350 to sort it out. VX say if the locks have been changed they can provide locks to fit the key we have for £120

Get a locksmith to cut the key to suit the barrel, then you'll need it programming to the car for the immobiliser...

And get a spare while you're at it

remember, if its deadlocked, smashing a window won't help 100%
