These sound very likely to be the DMF to me bud i had the same issues with the t8 but had the dreaded gear stick movement common with the m32 box. ended up having new bearings in the box a new DMF and clutch
Hi guys i have a slight issue with my gearbox that im afraid im going to find hard to explain, my car is a Vectra c 2.0 turbo sri and on idle i have a knocking/tapping sound if i press the clutch pedal half way it sounds louder and if i fully press it the sound disappears.
This has been like this for a few months now but what i have noticed is from cold 1st to 2nd is notchy.
The other thing that i have now noticed is when i start to set off with 1st engaged and take it to 2000-2500 revs press the clutch pedal as the revs drop i here like a knocking sound its strange im not sure what to think has this is the first gearbox related problem i've had so im not sure on symptoms.
Also when traveling along and i start to slow without the breaking it sounds like a whine im not sure what it is only really happens in 1st and 2nd can anyone help i was thinking at another meet someone could drive it and see for themselves has im not sure what this is, i am hoping its just the release bearing and dmf that needs changing please help.

Definitely sounds like the dmf to me, Ive heard of those symptoms before
That clattering usually means that the thrust bearing is on its way out or the dual mass flywheel is getting worn or both...
That's eased my mind I was thinking gearbox was fubared going to book it in for new clutch dmf and release bearing cheers guys
No worries buddy
Sounds like mine which is the thrust bearing but mite aswell change the lot while its out
Its a common occurence on high mileage diesels Ant, my blue estate had this and was one of the reasons i got rid when i did....
ye m8 mines done 94,000 now the clutch and bearing has done it job dunno if its been changed in the past but think its time to get mine sorted as week by week its gradually getting worse
who you having doing it mate?
