Writing a GID file to a CID is not good and should not be done.
I have seen noise before connected with corrupt eeproms.
I would reflash original CID eeprom and decode properly and pair to your radio in the normal way.
Hello Pecky,
Since a long time ago I'm reading this great forum and many times I found answer on my questions here.
I would like to congratulate you and to wish you much success and only the best.
Finally I have registered and I need some help
Apologize if my question is in the wrong section!
I bought CID display for my 2004 Astra H z17dth - KS, 08.10.04-07, HWD3 (I didn't have its security code, I got only VIN)
I found a person, who decoded it as follows:
1. He unsoldered EEPROM from my GID display and saved the .bin file. Then soldered it back.
2. He unsoldered EEPROM from my new CID and saved again the .bin file.
3. He rewrote my GID EEPROM entry into the CID EEPROM.
This paired display to my car and it works fine. Except one thing. I noticed difference in colors before and after that intervention.
This is the evening before intervention:
This is next evening after decoding:
I lost the solid black color on the fuel information, hidden menu, player information and clima control. Red color became like orange and some of the player options (above song's name) are not visible in daylight option. Only appeared on nighlight.
I have asked this person who make the change and he told me he has no idea why is that.
There are some differences in login and logout animation and kind of "noise" in the picture.
Could you please have a look and advice if there is any possible solution?
I have both .bin files.
Thank you!

I see. So I will talk again with this person and will ask him to reflash my original EEPROM content.
Here in Bulgaria is quite tricky to perform this operation with decoding.
It is possible to you to give me some hints how to decode properly and how to explain what exactly I need to be done?
I remember that when we opened EEPROM VIN number was in clear numbers, but security code was hidden in secured string (with additional display information as I read in forum).
If I know how to properly decode it will be more easy to find correct person and tools, in order to do it.
Your help would be highly appreciated!
Kind Regards,
Nickolay
1. Post your original cid eeprom dump here - we will get you a code
2. Flash back original cid eeprom dump
3. Use or find some one with tech2 or try opcom
4. Program it to your car
Last step sometimes gets bit tricky if doing for first time
Hello all,
Thank you very much for your help and support here.
Now on my phone I do not have this file. I will upload it from my pc.
And rollback procedure will start. I will try to flashback as soon as possible. It will take some time because I have to travel 200 km to get to the person, who can flashback.
Once this is done, I'll revert to you and let's see the tricky part with op-com.
In the meantime I have purchased op-com in order to program some of the additional options. I hope that I will be able to fit my screen, using it.
Have a nice evening!
wow, thats quite a distance!!! you may be better off getting him to email you the bin file and posting the CID pcb to someone who can do it surely this would be easier for you because they can then test it before sending it back to you...
Hello everyone,
I finally made this 200 km trip (in one direction) and I went to that guy in order to flashback.
And I have very very bad news...
It looks like he didn't save eeprom .bin file as supposed.
When he opened original CID file he was not able to read it.
At this point I'm out of ideas...
It is possible to load dump from another KS CID display?
Could you please give me advice or hint how to manage this sutuation?
Best regards,
Nick
Thats the only option left
Quite tricky situation......
Where can I find KS dump?
Is there anybody here who has available one?
had a look through my dumps and I dont unfortunately, maybe the others can help
