Thank you. I was looking for the pins that activate when key is put in ignition to indicate which positipn key is in. As it runs through the CIM looks like I'll have to get a multimeter on it to locate as they appear not to be shown anywhere.
They are sent via can bus so don't waste your time with multimeter you won't be able to find them

So which cables would indicate the position of the key as its turned? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So having seen this and thought it could be installed in an Astra MK5. It looks like it can't be installed.

What i was hoping to do was tap into the ignition to install the start button but have the ignition key as a back up in case of start button failure. (seen too many start button cars breakdown where there is no manual way to start car).
Given that the CIM sends signals to start the engine rather than a mechanical 12v switch this may not be possible.
If anyone has any thought/ideas on this please feel free to post below.
Why not go for an keyless go/openstart CIM
Seen few Sets in Ebay and retrofit cables and antenna

Having spent time looking at this it would cost too much to install. Looked at some of the kits available however not too keen on installing the kit that bypasses the immobiliser.
Thanks everyone for you help.
