He needs to select AFL Astra H - It doesn't say xenon, but the technician should have understood to select the AFL/AHL headlight option as they are xenons.
Hi to all. I see that you have a lot of knowledege abouth Opel cars on this site :-)
I have an Astra mk5 three door GTC 1.6 16v 115KM year 2009. My wish for years was original Bi-xenon lights.
So i bought unused original lights from Opel. They are AFL, have an unused ballast and Afl power modul on it and the ignitor inside.
For the test i want to connect them to the car without afl function and without leveling.
I drilled a holes in 9&10 pins in the loom and c onnect earth. As expecting the xenon just power on and for abouth two seconds off.
I fit the halogen lamps back and went in opel service on tester to turn on the xenon. And under the UEC he didnt find any option to change to xenon mode??
He needs to select AFL Astra H - It doesn't say xenon, but the technician should have understood to select the AFL/AHL headlight option as they are xenons.

He select AHL and now when i turn the lights on, first two times they shut down and the third time stay one. But when i start the car they start flashing.
Is there any danger if I drive with halogen lights and have in computer settings for xenon? For the time necessery to solve problem.
The setting in the UEC si locked. It sign "Not avalible"
It seems that they lock that function after facelift for some models.
How abouth connect balast on the power supply with a relay between? Would that work?
Try capacitor fix
Can you tell me more about that ?
Thanks =)
Well there isnt much to tell about it dont wont to go into details how it works and it values etc but can say that it will remove pulsed voltage and keep your lights on not flickering aswell as bulb error should be gone
http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/hid-can...c-hid-kit-fix/ is the kind of thing, basically a capacitor in a box. This is best suited for a HID kit rather than original fitment

Well yes but till he wont find way to switch them on he will get pulsed voltage etc
But its up to him which way to go caps or uec
I dont want to chaneg UEC becouse I dont know on what else it will influens that. So the capacitor must be conected on a plus wire for the short beam ( on plus side before original Hella balast on xenon version) ?
