    Advice please :)

Hi guys and girls.... I have a custom stainless steel cat back system with a centre box. My car is a 1.8 VVT 140bhp SRI.

I am wanting it louder so I was thinking about getting the centre box removed. How would this sound and would I lose back pressure/power.

Also how would a decat 4-1 manifold and sports cat affect noise and power.

Any comments will be great guys

    Thanks

Obv more boxes you take out louder it gets.. Also more boxes you take out more pressure you lose.. On my gsi ive got a backbox and thats it n thats loud but i have a loss of pressure and sometimes splutters or misfires but very rarely.. If you went mani n decat you could always add another box after the cat to bring the noise down.. Im thinking of putting a resonated section in rather than my straight through after the cat

Am I likely to really notice it on my engine size. Im looking at getting a eds remap by regal once the system is how I want it so was unsure what the best option is for me. I want it louder but no loss of power so wondered whether I should leave the centre box and just get the manifold and sports cat or take out the centre box and still get the manifold and cat or leave it all together.......

That's not all you got to think of. The diameter plays a major part too. Also the better or more heat you can keep in the system the better the flow of gasses. Need to consider these too matey.

Just my opinion mate I wouldn't bother mapping a na engine unless it has cams ect. The power that you will gain is simply not worth the money .
My mate has a Clio 197 spent 2500 to get it to 217bhp that's just silly in my opinion
