Weird issue with GID and CD30MP3

Hi All

Can't work out what's wrong, basically my bro in law purchased a cd30mp3 and GID paired and fitted to his car. A few months later he decided to get a android player to work with the GID so he sold me the cd30mp3. He gave me the code and I set it up on my BID.

Worked fine and been happy for a year. He's now sold his zafira and I brought the GID screen off him. I divorced the cd30mp3 from my BID and tried to pair it to the GID. But it says Radio Safe and won't marry... the screen doesn't have display safe

Any ideas?

i think the code given to my bro in law is incorrect... Im guessing the stereo and screen was fitted in the sellers car before he purchased it. and then when he gave the code he genuinely thought it was the right one...

Any ideas how to get it to work guys? Someone said eeprom or vauxhall with proof of purchase etc... however this was ebay a year n a half ago.

no good going to vauxhall as they would give you the security pass for the vehicle reg which in your case you think isnt original to the car... Best bet is to get the eprom bin file (either by us, or yourself with the correct gear) and then we can decode it.

Right the code I was given was correct. Sent the screen to someone who gave me the code and that matched.

I thought it may have been my version of opcom/vauxcom but 2 other versions have been used and I get the same thing.

Not sure about program index's so haven't really touched them. But I'm stuck with Radio Safe and program display... can easily pair the cd30mp3 to my BID with no problems what so ever.

Is it a trip to pecky to see if tech2 can do it or is there other options I can try as I've spent a couple quid so far trying to get this to bloody work!!!!!

You should have got whoever it was (who was it?) to reset the display back to factory, would have only taken 30seconds and then you could have pair it right away..

Have you tried clearing both units using existing code, fitting the display, (setting midspeed canbus as per the original screen) and then coding the radio to the code of the screen?

Done all that mate mid can bus set the same... screen came back reset for me at my request... the EHU I think is the problem... it won't come out of delivery mode with that screen! It's fine pairing back to my BId

have you checked the data blocks when you unpair it to make sure the radio says delivery state?

Any fault codes or mismatch wiring you will not be able to pair, can you pair them off the car I use a separate wiring loom to pair off car, had the same issue with mine.

If that is the case then that's a bit crap!

I'm wondering if my code index and audio index are incorrect... would that prevent pairing? I've found the GID index codes for zaffy B but haven't found the cd30mp3 ones for a Zaf only Astra. So if I choose astra wouldi then choose hatchback or estate?

GID screen I think should be 005 as its got BC....

Any ideas guys on the other codes
