    Replace REC

    Hi Pecky,

Could you please tell me what is the procedure to replace the REC?
I wonder particularly if I have to reset the old one prior program the new one?

    thanks

Pretty sure you don't actually need to reset it if the old one is going in the bin - the main reason for doing so is so that it can more easily be serviced and reprogrammed.

Pecky will confirm I'm sure. :-)

Any module can be replaced without reset if its faulty, if its working and you are going to sell it, than reset it, as its easyest to sell

      Hello,

I have received a new REC ( found on eBay for 60£ shipping fees included). I have installed and programmed it, and it works. the central lock is now working

I don't reset the old one, so you are right!!

I just wonder if it would work without program, because all the lights seem to work before programming. Unfortunately I don't test the central lock before.
I think that if don't program, we just have a trouble code "B3057-00Security Code not Programmed", but all is well. What do you think about that ?

      thks

Leaving any unit not programmed is a very bad idea, particularly the REC as it is part of the immobiliser system. There would be great problems if you needed to program any other part of the imobiliser system as only one item can be removed (or un-programmed) at any time or you would need new keys.
