Hi all,
Since having a rebuilt head on my 1.6 vvt it seems slightly reluctant to start in the morning now. If I give it a bit of accelerator it jumps to life and runs fine once started, but before it used to start no matter what without the need for the accelerator being pressed.
Although this isn't a major bother, I'd like to find out why it might have started doing this.
Op-com shows no fault codes, so I'm at a bit of a loss!
If any of you have experienced anything similar please let me know!

Well id say if youve had the rebuild done at a garage take it back.. Was the head skimmed at time of rebuild?
Apparently the head was skimmed yes. It's only at cold start, and runs perfectly as soon as it rests to idle, which it does instantly!
No mate never had any problems. What work was carried out on the car mate
Skimmed head ( apparently ), new exhaust cam, new pulleys on both cams, new belt and tensioner.
It just passed it's MOT today, emissions perfect. It just seems strange how it runs so sweet once it's started, but doesn't ' quite ' start like it did before!
Id ask for proof of the skim. Why did it need a rebuild
I'd say timing related tbh as head skim it would start but maby drop compressions down a Lil bit but again if runs ok don't think it's that I'd look into fuel/timing maby timing just a tad out but not enough to make it run **** as this world make the vvt work harder ie foot on throttle plug it in c if any codes if not take it back get them to just double check mate as the vvt on the end of cam has to b spot on..
even tho timing is vvt may not b

Ive seen head gasket fail on cars that are massivly hars to start but once started they run fine
