for those in the know.. There is no exhaust cam fitted to be keeping those valves open, they are just bent.. lol
looks like the exhaust cam has skipped a tooth or 2 and left me with 6 bent valves and 6 smashed rockers. fortunately, the Inlet was still correctly timed, and this happened on ignition..

only 6 valves are damaged, but i figured i might as well do the whole 8 just in case.
inlets all fine, that was timed up correctly by the looks of it. valves and rockers are sat here next to me, head is in a box draining the worst of the oil out. got a valve spring compessor coming to get started on that, then its a case of lapping them in and rebuilding it all.. taken me 2 days to get the head off so far due to all the crap bolted onto the inlet..
Could have been alot worse than it was.. at least it was stationary on start up, and at home.. thats the real bonus here.. lol
the missus is not happy with me building this on the dining room table.. lol

All those open valves should be sat flush with the head.. the exhaust cam has slipped, left the valves open and the piston has slammed into the valves bending them. They are only open as they are fouling on the side of the opening after having the face bent flat.. Once they are out I'll take a pic of the bent and new ones to show you the difference..

I've done big jobs before, but this is the biggest and most important so far.. there's not alot to go wrong with a clutch change, but this takes the piss.. lol

they should all be pointing directly up, as the first 2 are.. lol
