Hi,

I had my ecu replaced a few years ago at a garage. I do not have the car pass for the car, so I assume they used carprpog or something similar to complete the process. The second hand ecu they fitted had a security code written underneath it and it remains today. Unfortunately, the ecu needs replaced again 4 years later.
I've moved to England and I was hoping to do it myself this time but worried that I do not have the correct security pin to complete process. My understanding is that I require the security pin for the car and not the pin that is written on the underside of the first replacement ecu. Is this correct? If so, either contact Vauxhall or find someone with carprog to retrieve the pin and replace with second hand ecu that has pin?

Thanks.
