needs the cim to transmit the key data to the ECM
have a look around and see if they do an immo solution for the ecm, then it probably can be ran standalone
Hi, I was sure I did but will have another look.
I did have one question that I dont know who would be the best to ask. I was thinking of doing some testing to find out how much of the canbus loom / electrical centres could be removed before the engine ECU starts having problems and wont work.
So currently the CIM is not communicating but everything else seems to be working. If I was to remove the REC and the CIM totally would this stop the engine from running? I need to double check the location of the pin outs for the fuel pump for clarity, but could that work? or will it throw up too many problems for me?

I will do some research, weird thing is when I have checked the CIM, its got no can bus connection and vaux-com wont connect to it. I took the cowling off to have a look and I am going to clean the connector and check the pins to see whats going on.
