Fault Code: P0313 - Astra Mk5 1.6 (2006)

Hi guys

New member here - first post. Probably not my last!

Yesterday, her indoors was driving her Astra Mk5 1.6 (2006) when the emission control indicator started flashing. The car also started to judder and lose some power - as if put into too high a gear. The fuel tank was quite empty at the time and was doing around 70Mph on dual carriageway. It came on after maybe 5 mins from start up having been parked for 4-5 hours. She got parked up and left it a while and it cleared. I have since taken it for a test run - no warning lights or noticeable performance issues.

I tried the pedal test which returned only code: "P0313 - Misfire Detected at Low Fuel Level". I've spent the day reading all sorts of different suggested actions from simply fuelling it up and running it to new coilpack etc.

She has a couple of long (~80mile) journeys to make this weekend so I would like to know if it needs work done, what that might be and it's safe to drive until we get it booked in.

Hi Mike,

If you have filled it up and done a test drive and all feels fine, then I personally wouldn't have any concerns about driving it.

Diagnosing engine problems isn't my expertise though, but from what you are saying, it doesn't look like any immediate damage has been done.
