    UHP4 loom - Needed ?

    Hi

Having looked at this page :

    http://www.spamalot.it/blog/?tag=uhp4&lang=en

It seems that the only connections needed to get a UHP4 wired into the car is :

    Pin 13+29 to MID-CAN + (9)
    Pin 14+30 to MID-CAN - (10)
    Pin 16 to Ground (12)
    Pin 32 to BATT+ (15) (Via 7,5A fuse)
Pin 23 to Cell mute (11)
Pin 27 to Cellular voice in (34)
Pin 11 to Cellular voice in ref (40)

All other wires are just to be routed straight through.

So...why don't i just solder these 7 wires into the existing wiring harness ?

Just asking because the spamalot site mentions that i should buy a isomute harness and modify but it seems alot easier and cheaper to just solder these 7 wires into the car's existing harness itself..

There is no reason at all you can't solder onto the existing wiring harness.

I don't as I find it easier to solder onto a isomute harness, rather than solder in a confined space in the dash.

It also makes installation quicker and is fully removeable.

If you have no issues with it being fitted, then solder to the car loom

      Hi Pecky

Great, i will just solder it into the harness, the car is beyond any warranty period and i have no problem soldering in confined spaces. I work with soldering in my daytime job and i am an amateur gynecologist so i am used to both soldering and working in confined spaces.
