    Cim programming question

    Ok so i had to replace my cim module due to previous owner damage. Programmed secondhand reset CIM module everything works great except when i try to go into the UEC i know get error selected ecu mismatch and it wont let me in.

    Can anyone advise what i did wrong ?

      ecu mismatch means its not recognizing that uec for the year selected on tech2 or in conjunction with the cim, what ident cim was it you replaced and what did you fit?

      Was different ident and year but was told it didnt matter

      i've had it before where trying to use newer cim unit it then said mismatch with engine ecu, so i'm pretty sure it does matter to some extent

      what were the two idents?

      JS was old one not 100% on the new one would need to take a look tommrow. Can’t this new one just be flashed with the right firmware ?
      I did try and sps it but kept coming up with an error about the selected controller not being compatible with the version of tis web

      Ok so the new one i acquired is XE i tried my mates VIN with sps and it updated but his is a 2008 VXR mines a 1.3 cdti 2009 I m Stumped
