GID upgrade although it's now gone weird

Hi, I picked up a BF ident GID from an 08 Astra 1.7 CDTi breeze with climate this morning with intentions of putting it in my 05 Astra 1.9 150 SRi that has normal heating and a BID fitted. Once I've removed the centre console I connected the replacement display & plugged opcom in. I went to program index I think it was and it said unavailable which I thought fair enough I need someone with Tech II. I've come to exit the GID and it turned off and came back on. Now it's flashing Program display but the text is upside down? It was working fine before this although saying I needed to refill with fuel when I have just over quarter of a tank. I've also got an aftermarket radio if this help

I've since read that the later Astra has a voltage type fuel sender pickup as opposed to the Linear type my car has fitted

Is the unit now bricked and no good for my car anyway?

    Thanks

sounds like eprom corrupted.. seen this happen on a couple of GID's.. Can be fixed but not in car, you can try someone with tech2 first to reprogram a valid code index see if it cures it.

The facelift 08 GIDs are different to the 05.
The index cannot be programmed, you will need to have a blue plugged GID for it to work.
IIRC the ident code needed is an SE in the Astra

I know it’s 18 months later but I solved the upside down screen

I changed the index code again but with a replacement Vauxcom unit which rectified the screen and got rid of the “program display” too, not that it helped as I couldn’t fit it
