CIM Modules I'm currently looking at are as follows: KR, GC and ZS ident.
Hello all,
It is been a long time since my last post here.
Since I have successfully retro-fitted UHP4 module there were some additional upgrades made on the car - interior and plate LED illumination, some important service on the car (belts, rollers, oil, filters).
And after last winter was quite heavy one - we had here in Sofia almost a month with temperatures below -15 degrees and snow, I have decided to retro-fit ESP.
What I already have:
- IPC module, which supports sport button;
- Sport button successfully activated (wires to the IPC added);
- ABS pump (AS ident) + plastic base;
- YAW sensor installed uder hand brake;
Now I have trouble with finding appropriate CIM module. A lot of sellers do not agree to open them and to look for integrated circuit in it.
Is there any table, where I can find if specific CIM supports ESP, based on ident code (XC, ZF etc) ?
Cheers,
Nikolay

Hi all,
Any idea here?
Regards,
What's the stumbling block you're finding with the CIM already fitted.? Is it a steering angle sensor issue that's causing you to look for a different ident unit?
Hello nikh667, the only issue which I have with my CIM module is that built-in speaker doesn't work, so I do not have turn signal "click-clack" sound. Anyhow this is since I had my car December 2013.
However, reason why I want to change my CIM module is different.
I'm planning to retrofit ESP on my car. As I advised above I have already new dashboard (IPC), Sport button, ABS pump and YAW sensor installed.
It is only CIM module remained to be replaced in order to complete installation.
That is why I need some list or table where it is described which CIM module ident supports this function, like IPC module for example:

Hello soulman, thanks for checking this request mate! Appreciated!
you can replace the speaker in the CIM module, we had it previously, changed the speaker and works fine
Does the CIM on your car have option for calibration of steering angle sensor? To my knowledge this is the only portion of the CIM that will affect the operation of ESP, and you'll likely find the angle sensor in place as part of the unit - thinking this will just need the CIM HSCAN configuration reprogrammed so that the yaw rate sensor and ABS/TC/ESP Vehicle dynamic system are both set to 'present.
Should this not work, the part number of the CIM module fitted to my wife's Astra, which has ESP as standard (not damper control though) is 93184341. This is for a CIM with twin airbag connectors. If needed I can always look to gaining an ident number for it too.
@ soulman - Yep, actually in this forum I found this info that speaker can be replaced, anyhow it is not an issue for me. I got used to it.
@ nikh667 - I can confirm that my current CIM has option for calibration, anyhow I'm still not sure if my CIM does support ESP. I know that difference is that ones supporting ESP have 1 more IC (integrated circuit) built-in.
Here an example:

Anyhow I found a post from Richard, where he says that when retrofitting ESP the CIM module should be replaced only if no Steering Angle sensor is present.
Since I do have it maybe I will finally disassemble steering wheel and remove my current CIM module, then I will check if above mentioned IC is present there.
I will check what was the Idend on my CIM module and will share it here as well.
Thanks guys, will share my findings.
