Does the CDC40 have some sort of volume limiter ?
I've noticed recently that when it's playing a CD at a decent volume it will suddenly nose dive in Level !!
Trying to turn the volume up again makes no difference.
Only seems to do this on CD's

Yes it does have a limiter, I had the same annoying thing happen occasionally on mine where it just refused to go louder.
