Seems if I remove the K14 relay then turn the ignition on with the headlights they are fine and don't trip though all I can find about k14 is it's the "Terminal 15" relay. Can anyone shed any light on any possible causes?
Hi All,
I have an issue with my passenger headlight and am stumped about what to do next. It's an Astra H VXR with AFL factory fitted, now when I start the car the AFL fault light starts flashing, upon turning on the headlights after ~30 seconds the passenger low beam light turns off and the fog lights come on. So far I have tried swapping the entire head light unit over with the drivers side and still after ~30 seconds the passenger light goes out. To my mind that rules out the headlight unit itself, though clearly I still have a problem and I dont know where to look next. I have an OPCOM which I'm aware isn't the best diag tool in the world though connecting to the AFL unit and looking at the fault codes brings up "U1112-00 <Unknown DTC>" clearing this fault very briefly reactivates the passenger headlight but then it re-triggers and goes out again.
I cant help but think its down to the recent wet weather and something has got a soaking and either needs drying out or replacing but I just dont know what to look at next. Anyone got any ideas? failing that anyone around Somerset area got a Tech2 thats charges reasonable prices?
Cheers,
Sean

Sounds a uec issue you checked for water ingress?

I took the UEC out last night and couldnt see anything obvious, I did spray it with electrical contact cleaner as well but no improvement, I'll try taking it out again this evening after work and leaving it next to the radiator for a few hours and see if that helps
Having rechecked the codes tonight I also had "U2140-71 Invalid data from UEC (Underhood Electrical Centre) So I assume you are correct and water got into it.
I've now removed the UEC and left it next to a radiator to dry out for 24 hours, hopefully ill be ok after that
Nope usually it's toast buddy

And there's more ... am sure someone will be along to correct me but there are several types (versions) that only work with one and other I.e if you have or haven't got a rec

Keeps getting better.... any good news?
Errr... opcom won't code it and you need MDI or tech 2 to program
Second hand one will need decoding and you will need your car pass
