    steering angle sensor callibration

My car came up with the code for steering angle sensor with the esp light 0n the dashboard, took it to vauxhall to have it recallibrated, they said the secruity code woudn,t work, so presuming they got a new one they then said the recallibration didn,t take the light of. Does it need to be driven to take the light of after callibration cause they now say i need a new cim.

I guess vauxhall need to read their own bulletins then
      http://www.diagnostics.org.uk/help/s...ode-impossible

Has the steering wheel been off for any reason? Would be unusual for this to happen out of the blue.

Could happen if the car has had clutch or gearbox work as the steering collumn would be disconnected.

Assuming the steering angle sensor is back in the correct physical position, take the battery off as per the bulletin in the link

You need to be careful with an off position steering angle sensor as the ribbon cable in the CIM can snap which then means a new CIM is required.

I´m having the same problem. But my car went to change Timing belt.

Could the error been caused by this intervention?
