Update -

The garage are taking there time Monday they were supposed to be stripping it to take pictures to send to the warranty company but today rang them and they admited that yesterday they only took for test drive and tried to put the claim in based on that although i told them in the first place they needed to strip it down.

Anyway they recon the second gear synchro has had its day and the bad news they have told me is that vauxhall will not sell them the replacement part so will need a new or reconditioned gear box.
Just wish they would hurry up and get it sorted seem to be having no luck with this.

With regards to the mileage i have looked at bcm dump of another car and can find the mileage in three places i had to convert the hex to decimal then divide by 64 but i am going to try and find dump from ecu and bcm from same car to see if the mileage is stored in both locations and if it is i am may have some luck as if it has been clocked im guessing they would have only changed the mileage on the BCM or ECU but i am still learning here so not sure what the outcome will be

Vauxhall wont sell them the part i cant see that if its got a part number its for sale but if its like mine the new second gear synchro is the same as the original that might be why they wont sell it they know it wont fix it lol

well I thought the same thing that it was strange that vauxhall won't sell it to be honest I'm not having much luck with anything at all

but to find out more information I have complained to chairman of vauxhall so hopefully this will answer some questions further

Or the garage you have gone to can't fix gearboxes and rather charge for a new one

refurb gearbox f40 £1407.Dont get me wrong because of the warrenty the garage had to strip it down to take picture to prove the 2nd gear syncro was broken and the warrenty covers first 1k but 1407 seems steep to me for refurb

😲 ouch how much all i say is they were cheaper 15 years ago when i was still in the garage tradelol i think my cars going back now they have given up trying to fix it lol lets hope it sorts yours out
