    Astra vxr mk5 keyless problems!

Hi there I'm new to this forum, got directed here for advice on my mk5 Astra vxr ! The problem I have is the cars been sitting off the road for 2 years plus with out and engine, I need to move the car up to new premises so went to do so put brand new battery in the car car unlocked as it should but ignition won't turn on for some reason so I put new battery's in the key fobs tried to sit key closer to the steering column where ignition barrel would be but nothing I just get the wee padlock symbol on steady nothing else! I've tried all fuses but still nothing. No I'm led to believe that the car has lost memory due to sitting so long so the keys need re synced but my question is how do this if I'm not able to turn the ignition on? Ids there a different way to code a key on the keyless entry system? Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm lost now lol
