IPC mileage

The wife has changed her Astra and no sport button 1.9 cdti 150, I have put sport button/wiring on and programmed with Tech2 no joy.
I have the IPC off the same car the sports button came off and would like to fit and see if the sport button then works ( but the clocks have 120,000 miles on and her new car only 26,000).

If I put the 120,000 mile IPC on, can this write to the engine ecu and increase the mileage on the ECU or am I safe to try them ?

Ipc will show 120000 but when you will check in ecu it will show 26000 so dont be afraid just fit it
