    Rear Electric windows

I have had a window blind get dragged into the rear n/s electric window, this has since stopped working but strangely in the up position.
My questions relates to the pin outs on both the motor assembly and the plug which connects to it.
I have checked the wiring between the door and the pillar and it seems ok, I have tested the plug and found a permanent 12v there, no change when i move the switch for the window on drivers door panel. Id like to know what i should expect to test on all the pins in the plug, if anyone has a diagram of what they do and what test results i should get. Also is there a way of buzzing the motor with 12v to check it works?

    Hopefully you guys can help

    Cheers

    Andy

Thats been a bit of help to be fair understanding that youre actually grounding the 12v line to make the motor go either way.
I think i'm satisfied that my electrics to the plug are fine now from that video. I seem to get some swinging voltages when the window switch is pressed or lifted so assuming this voltage is ok then i think the motor is buggered.
I tried to "hot wire" the motor with 12v power pack using the 10v output, but i dont think it has enough amperage to drive the motor, either that or the motor is kaput!

Next question is how do I remove the duff motor . canit be removed and refitted without the entire window mech being removed??

      More research required..

Thanks for the input so far

If you are pulling your own parts at a scrapyard, that will let you know better. With the Buick in that video being a GM car, like your Zafira, hopefully they are similarly easy to strip.
Of course, the first thing to do when you get a replacement motor is to plug it up to the door wiring harness and try the window switches, just to confirm the old motor was bad and the new one works.
You could even try the motor from the other side door as a diagnostic tool, before you buy a replacement.

I got a second hand motor unit with guarantee and that too doesn't work on the wiring loom. Not sure which way to go now. I have it booked in with a mate whos an auto electrician for him to have a look next week.
Fingers crossed as i'm out of ideas

aren't the rar door looms prone to braking up on these causing window/locking malfunctions?
