How good are 19" Snowflakes really????

    Hi Guys,

Got a chance to purchase some mint 19" snowflakes for the astra h estate with tyres, just wondering if they are any good as I've heard that they tend to crack easily and the ride can be quite hard? Currently running on 18" Pentas but do not want to get rid for the snowys if there gonna be a pain with cracking.

    Cheers Guys

Unfortunately it's hit and miss, you could be really lucky and never have a problem or you could crack every one within a month

Personally I'd say stay on the pentas for now

As Rob has said, I know people that have had them with no problems and just as many that had had problems

I've heard the same but not experienced them, I ran 19" VXR wheels on the H estate and the ride was fine, just remember to stay on 235/35's and not go to a 225 or 215 and you'll be fine

Ooooh, big NO from me mate, they look fantastic on an estate, I ran them for 9 months or so, that was as long as I could stand the ride, it was a hateful one, I have VXR shocks and Eibach Sportlines on so approx a 60mm drop on 235/35/19's. You could feel every pothole, lump, bump and crack in the road, I also had 2 of them crack after hitting relatively small potholes at reasonably low speeds.

      Pros:
      looks
      Attachment 719

      Attachment 720
      stance (if lowered)

      cons:
      ride (even on 235/35/19's)
      tramlining
      crack very easily
      tyre prices

Considering I don't believe ive heard a VXR 19" cracking must be an issue with the snowflakes

i brought a set , three had been repaired , watched every pothole , but still found a crack in front after taking off to clean , slow pressure release of 4PSI per week
, slow puncture , turned out to be a crack , never remembered hitting anything and i swerve round every pothole i see
takes your gamble , and hope for best im afraid

Personally from what I have seen and heard I would never buy a set of them.
