Sounds like software incompatibility to me mate, are you on iOS 8 now ? If so, that might be the problem
Hi Guys, Wonder if anyone can help me out?
Recentley fitted the UHP4 bluetooth mod to my astra H, everything was working fine up until a week ago. Problems is is when connected to my iphone 5 the voice commands doesn't seem to work properly? I press the button on the steering wheel and get the commands dial, name, number etc, but when I say name and then the name it says that the number is dialling but then disconnects. When it does this I look at my iphone and it says error on the screen, any ideas?
The phone works when I scroll through to the right number and press call though?
Cheers Guys.

Hi Chris, I am in iOS8 now but it started in 7. Thought with updating to 8 it might have solved it? Like I mentioned its just with the voice commands...strange!
I'm not sure then mate, was wondering if the update to iOS 8 might have exacerbated the problem but if it started in iOS7 then that rules that out. It might be worth having a word with Pecky to see if there are any software updates available ?
No updates I'm aware of, not recent anyway, so if your module is a 2010 or on the 2010 software it already has the latest software.
There are also members on the Insignia forum who are having issues with iOS8 as well where others aren't.

I might update my iPhone 4S then and see what happens, it works fine on my system currently (or at least it did the last time I used it) but I've been using my android based G2 for a few months now so I'll swap the simcard over and see how it fares with iOS8 installed...
Hi Guys thanks for the replies.
Last night I connected my Daughters iphone which is iphone 5 on IOS7 and her boyfriends iphone 4S IOS6 as he's never updated and both did the same? You say name the name comes through the speakers then the old dear says shes dialling then disconnects. Then you look at the iphones and they say unknown error?
Pecky the module date is 2006 or 2007 cannot remember? When the bluetooth was activated nothing extra (software) was downloaded to it.
Thanks guys
Your lucky to get that far, When I had my UHP4 I said name and then said a name and it told me it wasnt on file lol, no names worked on my voice command, only numbers
My voice dial worked perfectly on my iPhone 4S and I believe my UHP4 is a fairly recent one, Pecky fitted mine so there's a good chance mine is up to date.
Muppet , you have to store the names in the UHP4, it doesn't work out the contact in your phone from the name, you record a voice tag and tell it the number.
The software gets uploaded by Tech2, sounds like it's out of date and needs updating.@Pecky the module date is 2006 or 2007 cannot remember? When the bluetooth was activated nothing extra (software) was downloaded to it.
Thanks guys
