Ignition barrel

Hi all .
Can anyone help me .

For a few fays now my ignition has been playing up.

Firstly I had to put the sterring lock on to get the key to turn to ignition 1 and 2 .

And just my luck 2day it has taken me from 10 until 12 45 to finally get the key to turn and take lock off .

Im thinking a new barrel and key .

Anyone got any ideas of how to fix this or am I up the creek without a paddle .

What was the problem mate? Mk4 ignition barrels have a habbit of playing up mine went really sticky and kept gettin wedged so gave it a squirt of wd40 down the barrel and hasnt done it since.

Ive just the second repaired one the pin at the back wears the outer barrel away so you have to do a bit or grinding with a dremil
