    Astra VXR Nurburgring Progress Thread

    Hi Guys,

With a new job etc This shall now be getting more money thrown at it this year so i thought I would paste my progress up and keep it updated on here too!
Aim is to track the car come summer time
All updates within the thread will also be posted on the first 10 or so posts i have reserved to save scrolling through all the spam/chit chat.
    Here goes:
    Right chaps,
After almost 4 years of ownership Iv decided to make this thread as it has been little/slow/ no progress at times!
However with house purchased some money can now go towards the car!
So the story begins with my old car! I loved it very much!!

Had some of my best laughs in that car!! But onwards and upwards!
So I came across the Burg, it was for sale at Revitup and contacted Mark about it. Did the deal and set on #503 of 835! Came pretty much standard spec, no mods! AFLs and the numberplate!! Pictures of it at Revitup!

So I had my mum go pick it up as I wasn't old enough to insure it for another two weeks! She pulls out the garage trying to keep up with Dad in this.......

And popped the turbo!!! Thanks Mum
Spent its first two weeks in VX having it done!!

So it was left standard for some time! I busy enjoying it and fuelling! The time came to want to tinker!!
So long standing joke, snail turbo sticker to add power! Met up with Manc group for a rolling road day to see if the mod had added power!!!

Car pulled 277Bhp on standard map with 279lb torque. Proves the sticker works pulled more power than stage 2 cars on the day and guys said it was running uber sweet!!
    Hekos arrived!!

    Fitted

Then I purchased a RARB and eibach sportlines from philgvxr! Cheers Bud!
RARB sprayed white and fitted thanks to plastermick!!!

Springs were coated with FK1000P for some protection!

    Springs fitted

    De-badged

    Pipercross fitted

Sprayed rocker cover and replaced rocker cover gasket!

Made a boom for the car!

    Got photos like this:

Then fitted a TX direct feed, Glenn Yale heatsheild and one of Adams powerpipes with all blue piping!

Entered Waxstock 2013 and detailed before with swissvax!!

More bits to come with re circ valve, airtec cooler and map! Car is currently sat fully stripped in the rear so have small plans there too
Also white wrap for boot strip and fog surrounds!
    Photo shoooooot

Big thanks to Matt for coming round giving me a hand today!!
Needed to spray my white gone green rocker cover!
Sprayed a few other bits and bobs to!!

      LOL MATT!!!!

Not perfect by any means, first time spraying properly!
I am aware it's different shades of blue but there are further plans with those bits painted light blue
Next up white wrap boot strip and fog surrounds, and tidy J clips etc!

      How it looks in daylight

      Re circ in

      Boot strip wrapped

Mahhhooosive thanks to Adam at Enhance Perform for my "gift"
Rest assured your gift in return is coming this week mate!
      Before

      After

      Cheers Adam!!

Time to get rid of the scroggy old plates

      New plates on

So today's the first day of the car officially being a garage queen.
Few maintenance bits and pieces need to be replaced first, rear pads and discs (nothing special as they don't do alot at the best of times other than balance the car into corners) and shocks are going on this weekend also.
Air conditioning condenser is corroded badly which also needs replacing this weekend and rocker cover and other engine bits are coming off to be sprayed.
Then next week on order will be:
Nankang NS2-R Semi Slick 180 Compound
HEL Braided Lines & DOT 5.1 Brake fluid
      Quaiffe Limited Slip Differential

After that we can start chasing power

      1/05/2014

MLR braided lines now ordered on recommendation. Should be here tomorrow along with new discs and pads for the rear.
Going down the line of uprated parts, as apposed to the big brake kit for the time being.
      DOT 5.1 fluid also ordered.
Also have my 3 gauge center piece to fit and install with white LED backlit gauges

      03/05/2014
      Postman was busy today!
Delivered discs, pads, Matt Lewis racing brake lines and prosport gauges! Garage is getting fuller of things to fit!!

      04/05/2014
Well finished clearing the garage today and fitted door protectors to the wall as it will spend 95% of its days in there!
Spent this afternoon pre washing the car, tried a few new products to me! Tried revolt and a clay mitt which I was happy with!

Then it was tucked away in the garage an Will start machining tomorrow! Been almost 12 months since it's last correction when it was nominated for waxstock last year!

Also on the to do list tonight is order some brake cooling ducts, and then some spray paint to tidy up the engine bay and get all matching colours! Still unsure on colour theme to go with on rocker cover and stainless pipes.

      Picture of the cooling ducts
Will probably also do the fog delete for extra ventilation to the discs

Removed a few stickers to try an freshen up the exterior.

Oil, filter and few other service parts bought today to let it sit on some golden oil.

Still spraying some engine parts but may have to wait till the weekend

More painting and fixing leaky gaskets

Looking to pick up some Vectra VXR brakes this week with 345mm discs this week to help it stop with braided lines and dot 5 fluid
