1.9cdti 150 engine temp?

So i was on a journey back home today and i put the screen on tyat showed engine temp speed in kmph and the sensor temp and my engine temp went upto 98 only ever been to 85 before is this normal?

Tbf i have been abit concerned as i have never heard the cooling fan on my car but 99% of te time im doi g 2/3 mile journeys tops

My fan on my astra van would never come on it only ever used to sit at 80. Soo never the need and probably the same as yours. Keep your eye on it and just have a look at your coolant bottle and see if you can see it flowing
