Correct, the Astra H was a lot less sophisticated and much easier to program, the new generation are locked down by the dealerships and it also ensures that people who don't know what they're doing don't screw the system up. Pecky is one of the foremost leading experts on everything to do with tech 2 and tech 3, both of which are the programming systems on the Astra H and Astra J respectively, if he tells you that it cannot be done, then it 100% CANNOT be done. Likewise if he tells you it can (even if a dealership tells you otherwise) then it 100% can be. You won't find a more authoritative figure where this stuff is concerned than Pecky...

No it won't, they won't ever release it to the trade let alone the public.....

It's a closely guarded secret and also needs programming codes sent for each job, that way they stay in control and stop the rip off merchants from creating programs like OPCOM to get around using expensive diagnostics interfaces.
