Rocker cover gasket leaking?
Hey guys
Had a quick look under the bonnet today as the weather has been so bad lately I wanted to check she was still there.
z20ler was still there but I was shocked at the amount of oil there was present to the right hand side of the rocker cover.
Anybody advise on basic cheap fixes before I have to get it checked in at Vx who I no will spank me.
Rocker cover gasket leaking?
As above mate
How do I test ? What prices am I looking at to get it changed ? .
Wipe the oil off, start it up and look for the fresh drip
Not hard to change at all, can do it yourself or you could ask nick very nicely
As Rob said just wipe it fully and monitor it. If its only a slight leak you may not see it straight away so check it at intervals. Just make sure if it is that you dont buy a cheap ****ty gasket and also its changed properly. Ask ANT-VXR he will tell you what and how
Thanks for the heads up. Will be buying genuine parts from vx as always. Thanks for the heads up gents.
Get a replacement gasket from KRP in Brierley Hill matey
Make sure you top your oil up also lol
£16.95 or round about for genuine victor reinz rocker gasket.. And literally 5 min job.. Bit if your changing that you may aswell get yourself a rocker cover sprayed up and fit that save having to buy another gasket when you decide to change in the engine bay.. Hoses.. Shiny bits etc...
and most common place to be leaking from mate
