High oil usage

It can't be normal to use a litre of oil in 1000 miles surely?

Is this poor build quality of VX engines that makes them say it's normal, or is there a reason they drink oil? Seems rare for a car to need more than one top-up per year unless there's an underlying problem...

Thats the official take on things but in practice, they usually use less than that, a lot less...

what ever it is, it seemed to be worse when i did a week of high motorway milage so not sure if its just the amount of miles i did or whether its something to do with the engine sustaining high revs on the motorway

My mates brand new rs5 4litre supercharged thing uses 1 litre every 400
miles and audi said thats fine

well if id spent that kind of money I would want it to use 0 oil , I don't see how they can say that when a engine / turbo / supercharger are sealed units so no oil should pass anywhere tbh
