    Engine Problem

A couple weeks ago the engine management light came up on my car which was due to the lambda sensor... but my friend cleared it for me and it hasnt came back on since. But last night the orange light came on (car and a spanner) when I started the car, pushed my foot onto the accelerator but nothing at all, wouldnt even rev! Turned the car off then back on again and it worked fine again, is this something to be worried about?

The lambda sensor produces a voltage for the engine management depending on how rich or lean the mixture is, say if it's rich the higher the voltage, so the ecu puts less fuel in to the engine to compensate, vice versa if it's lean, if the lamda sensor is faulty it takes longer for the ecu to receive the signal off the relay, say a brand new one takes 0.1 of a second, a worn out one takes around 2 seconds, maybe more, get the code read and see which ones faulty, that's what it sounds like to me matey!

So you think changing the lambda will cure this problem mate? Its a fare bit of money for a decent lambda sensor replacement if this isnt the fault... the code p0170 hasnt exactly said its definatly the lambda.. its saying it could possibly be that or the MAF.. aswell as numerous other things..

The first thing you said was the eml come on due to the lambda, I only know this because I recognize the symptoms of it being a lambda by ruling all others out, just by seeing the symptoms you said I got an idea it's the lambda matey, 80 percent sure
