child seat detection fault

a few months ago, the Airbag light appeared on my dash and i've finally got it diagnosed.

it is returning a telltale circuit malfunction (childseat detection)

does anyone know which plug under the seat i need to be looking at, or where the module is located in the seat itself? code cannot be cleared via tech2 as the problem is still there..

Two core cable. Think outer is orange (or may be yellow). Has purple connector. With a tamper lock on it. But is easy to open. Disconnect battery first though to be safe mate. Hope this helps.

I would solder the wires yes but as Craig said disconnect battery first

Could cause a high resistance in the circuit. Unfortunately Vauxhall state that air bag wire looms should be replaced and not soldered. Having said that it has been done before. Not by me. You will more than likely find if it disconnected and re connected it will solve the open circuit.

Will put them in to Vauxhall tis2web for you tomorrow and see what I can find for you in the way of technical bulletins.

thanks alot.

someone over on the Vec C forum reckons it could be the circuit for the telltale, meaning it could be the clocks are faulty.. might explain it, as the light appeared shortly after doing the SMD conversion on the clocks..
