Been a while since I really did anything to the zaf as performance wise I have nothing left to do without forging .
That was the plan for the winter and I put the car on a sorn all ready for it but with trying to run a business it became clear quite quickly that it won't be happening just yet .
So re taxed it and back to enjoying a bit of boost lol .
Bought a decat for it about 6 months ago and finally got round to getting it fitted on Wednesday . Turns out my sports cat that was on had been turned into a decat anyway thanks to my ignition cut limiter lol .
Either way I had myself a proper decat made by RJ performance in Birmingham .
They also did the twin exit system on the vectra
you reckon mines not far off done the same too the way it bangs away?
Not sure mate as yours is a different kind of bang . Yours is a natural one where as mine is a forced one with a lot more pressure going through the system.
Update time ........... The Zafira is very poorly . Low compression on cylinder 3 which most likely means a cracked piston
Only advantage is its a good excuse to finally forge it . Should have funds for parts within 2 weeks so hopefully it will be alive for Pvs but may mean I will have to bring the vectra .
Sad time but onwards and upwards hey m8 this will be 1 mean zaffy once finished
Ok so this happened ..........
Turns out I had destroyed the bottom of piston 3 . Block bores didn't have any damage but costs just ended up looking too high to forge mine .
Went for a slightly cheaper option and have bought a freshly forged engine that will be delivered tomorrow .
Also have my new turbo setup here .........
It's a genuine Garrett gt2871r with a custom made 3 inch down pipe .
Just got a clutch, diff, fuel pump and injectors left to buy and then it's go time and once run in should be looking around 400-430bhp
