Sounds good mate, what brand of 2 stroke are you using and how much are you paying for it etc ?
Hey all, basically for the last few weeks i've been testing a little theory. It's been proven but wanted to see the results for myself. As you all know there are various additive you can get for Diesels (redex, wynns and millions more) but over on the Vec C, Alfa and Land Rover forums they have been adding 2 Stroke Oil to their fuel and getting quite impressive results. The oil is meant to replace the additives missing from current diesel fuel (afaik) in order to lubricate and help with the burning of fuel.
As i said, i've been doing this a few weeks now, using approx 150ml of 2 Stroke to every half a tank. At first there wasn't much difference, but after around 100 miles, the engine was a lot smoother and quieter and i am now finding that there is more low end torque. There is also less smoke when i flex my right foot and the car is easier to start in the colder weather. A word of warning though, do not use it if you have a DPF fitted, unless you want to say hello to a nice large bill as it will kill it.
So all in all, very impressed with 2 Stroke Oil as an additive, i was very dubious at first but am now a strong supporter

Meant to add that in.... got side tracked. Ideally you need to use any JASO-FB 2 stroke, i'm using Halfords Garden 2 Stroke Oil and at £1.99 for 250ml it's decent value.
Cracking matey
Never heard of that before. I'm hopefully getting my DPF removed and EGR sorted nearer the end if the year
I also use the two stroke as an additive.
Whatever you buy, make sure that it says low ash on the bottle...
Really does make a difference.
Smoother.
Quieter.
Better low end torque, as already said.
Also more fuel efficient...
Just a small note on two strokes. Any two strokes I have owned, motor bike, rc car engines lawn mowers ect. Instead of purpose two stroke oil I have always used ATF Dextron 2. ( automatic transmission oil) and never had a problem. I believed its the same stuff.
Hi guys, as a previous rx8 user I most advice for motul 710 as the ideal premix, any 2 stroke oil you buy make sure it's cat friendly.
