Lighter socket.

The cigarette lighter / aux power socket on my 2006 Astra H seems to be live all the time, even with the ignition off. Is this normal, and is there an easy way to change it to go off with the ignition off?

It stays live all the time havnt seen option to switch it off in tech2 so im afraid its not possible

That is disappointing news, and bad design, too.

Well thats what they designed, what are you leaving connected in socket? If you will take out ashtray you will find one more black connector what switches off when ignition is switched off. If its just for mp3 make some mods and use that wire but dont use than high amp devices or few devices at same time

Think after 15min the car cuts the energy. Have you checked that?

Not yet, but I shall. My Xsara used to do that. I should have thought to try it.
