    Tyre recomendations please.

Not sure if this is right section but trust it will get moved

Right then, iv been looking on camskill and blackcircles at tyres the current tyres on mine are 185/55/15 i have noticed that its a bit cheaper in the size 195/50/15 .. will this slight change in size matter ? or will it be fine to run.

iv been looking at toyo t1rs..avons..bridgestones

whats people opinions ..wet and dry ..

    Thanks.

Toyo T1R's are fantastic Tony, I have driven on these and If I could justify putting them on mine then I would, trouble is 235/35/19's ain't exactly cheap

I think Luke's (Lejenko) 888 wears these too

I hear lots of good things about these in the sort of size you're looking for as the MX5 community rate these highly too

Have to agree, know plenty of people running 195/50/15 as an alternative because of price, it will often be a recommended alternative by the manufactuer as the rolling radius is all but identical to 185/55's. Makes wise the worlds you're oyster in this size, toyos are fantastic, the only downside being the wear rate and the fact they melt on track but as a road tyre they take some beating! Alternatives would be falkens 912's,Uniroyals rainsports, hankooks v12 evo, to name but a few and none i think would be bad choices, all will serve you well

Falkens ain't bad but very soft and wear quickly in my experience, they grip well in the dry though

Hmm strange how experiences with different products vary, i had t1r's on the mx when i got it, they were brand new and lasted 7k, the current 912's are definatley fairing better with similar abuse:-)
Dunno about spec 2's only thing i've ever heard is they are a bit naughty in the wet, but can't honestly comment having never used them, did however look at AD08's when buying tyres last, not that that helps i suppose
