Subject: Colum Integration Module (CIM) or wiring harness, steering wheel - Different electrical failures - intermittent breakdown of the horn when headlamps on / steering wheel remote control sporadically out of function

Models:
Astra-H 2004...2010,Zafira-B 2005...2010

Complaint: Different electrical failures - intermittent breakdown of the horn when headlamps on / steering wheel remote control sporadically out of function.

Cause: Complaint caused by CIM internal contact resistances or bad connection of the steering wheel wiring harness pin´s.

Production: As of MY 2008 an improved wiring harness has been introduced in production. As of Modeljear 2010 improved CIMs have been introduced in production.

Remedy:
In case of customer complaint about steering wheel remote control malfunction, first check the steering wheel wiring harness (part number: 93179285 / catalog number: 62 92 683) and replace if found necessary.

Note:
The wiring harness is exclusively for steering wheels from supplier Takata Petri.

In case of complains about intermittent horn breakdown with activated headlamps replace the Colum Integration Module (CIM). The CIM can be ordered via P&A.

Improved parts can be identified by the production date stamp on the CIM housing.

Improved parts have a production date stamp 29. October 2009, or later.

The regular Warranty Procedure will apply.
