Finally got around to blanking my EGR today after about 2 years
I've had some acceleration lag recently and I was wondering if anything would rear it's ugly head, then lo and behold...
The dreaded P2279 DTC appeared on my way home from work the other night along with the familiar orange EML light on the dashboard
So today I decided to get on and clean the EGR and boost sensor which to be fair, weren't too bad although I did notice that the 2 13mm bolts holding the downpipe onto the bottom of the EGR were a bit loose
This was what I found when everything was off the car, as I said, not too bad but cleaned anyway
Boost Sensor...
Then I thought 'Hang on, I have a blanking plate somewhere' so after a 10 minute search, found it and got it fitted
Didn't bother drilling a hole in it, just fitted it in situ and also left the EGR unplugged too
Started her up and this was what greeted me
NO EML LIGHT
Took her for a 10 mile run and still no engine management light
Checked the scangauge and found this DTC pending...
Obviously down to having the EGR unplugged but as it stands, no worries as the EML is staying off which means I wont be distracted by it, feels more responsive to drive too so it's alllll goooood
The EML should visit you at some point soon unless you have the egr mapped out of course. I drove a good few hundred miles before mine come on and then again once cleared it lasted another while before it came back on.
Ahh glad you sorted it mine wasnt mapped out and i had a 3mm hole in my blanking plate.. I had eml every now and again and as said i just cleared it and it stayed off for so long
I used to be okay fir about 3 days and the EML came on but I never unplugged the connector.
Hopefully it will stay off.
I ain't too worried to be honest, It'll be mapped out very soon
A few small updates, vinyl wrapped the top of the rear bumper for something a bit different...
Finally got around to tinting and polishing my side repeaters...
