what car are you fitting it to... Its quite a thin shield cable for the co-ax
i have retro fitted a CD70 with CID and have managed to get the GPS base and mast the only thing im missing is the cable from the base connection to the stereo does anyone know if standard aerial cable is the same??? also does anyone know the part numbers for the cable
what car are you fitting it to... Its quite a thin shield cable for the co-ax
Most vehicles have either one or two , sometimes three cables running from the mast down to the pillar plug.. these can be depinned carefully and you can then use them to add to your existing setup..
the car is a zafira 56plate life and it only has one lead from the roof connector. where about's is the pillar plug?? i can see the blue plug that the mast connects to. the gps mast has 3 cables coming from it any idea which of the cables would be for gps ??
ok thanks is that the only plug along the length of the cable and can you buy the cable separately to add to my single cable
No you cant buy an individual bit. You would have to buy the whole loom from the aerial to its end point... which is why its better to find a scrapper and depin it or find one on ebay
Normally it goes from that plug to the footwell and then a seperate bit from the footwell along the dash to the radio
Honestly the easiest way for the GPS aerial is go on ebay and search "astra fakra antenna" they are about a fiver, plug and play then you just need to find somewhere to feed it to. Mine is above the centre speaker.
You can buy the cable separately, but they charge £35+ for it which is a rip off.
Just get a fakra one and ignore the roof aerial.
