    Cruise control astra 1.6sxi twinport

Hello all, just read through many threads on this forum and others about retrofitting of cruise control. Im undecided if I want to add it or not, I have checked for a clutch switch and can confirm that I need one, I will be checking some time this week to see if the wiring is behind the clocks. I don't know if any other wiring is missing so will have to check as well.
How likely is it that all the components/wiring is there waiting for clutch switch and stalk to be fitted.

      Hello,

On diesel cars all the wiring and clutch switch are fitted, only cruise control stalk and activating via OP-Com is required.

In your case you will need cruise control stalk and clutch switch. You have the cable and connector going to that switch. You should only plug the connector and put the switch on place.

Sometimes is quite difficult to see the wire, use some light and remove plastic cover under steering wheel.

Then put the stalk and activate with OP-Com.

I can confirm that installing cruise control is worth - it is very easy to use and very helpful.

      Cheers

Thank you for replying, my main concern is a wire missing from the uec as Ive read many threads about it being missing from it.
I travel a lot watching BTCC and often make trips to Silverstone so im really swaying towards having it.

Quick update, cruise control stalk fitted and switch, had a mate who has tech 2 activate it and dose not work.
We took a look at the UEC and found no wire/ pin for cruise control running from it.
How do I run a wire from the uec to clutch switch and where to connect that wire?
Many thanks and all help appreciated.

Start at x1 connector and run 1 wire to uec

Well another productive day taking panels off and cut fingers I have took passenger kick panel off and have looked at the x1 connector, undone screws to get more freedom to look closely at the connections and with a print out of a x1 diagram found on this site to double/triple check what pin/wire im looking wasn't there either.
So now my question is as there's no connection from uec to x1 and no grey wire from x1 plug do I just run a wire from uec to the clutch switch and splice the wire onto the grey wire at the clutch switch?

Another puzzling thing is that why is there 2 wires from the clutch switch plug could they both need splicing onto other wires?

Id be happy to hand over the job to any one locally
