but any FULL CAN (54plate onwards) should work..

I get blank eeproms from digi key or rs not cheapest place
Get exactly same eeproms

My mate got a replacement CIM for his Vectra but wasn't given the PIN for it.

Can anyone tell me where the EEPROM is ? - is it this :

Or can the PIN be obtained from the serial number on the board : ?

Otherwise , I know the PIN for the old CIM , and I guess can read this using EEPROM reader and then just write to the new CIM

??

good guess. That's the JA1050 CAN transceiver ..

There is nothing else on that CIM which looks like an 8-legged EEPROM - does anyone else know ?

have a look closely at the chip, if its a 93c76 then its the right one.. thats the position they normally are in
