    dead cd500 navi

    Hello fellow problem magnets

I have a real problem here, my cd500 navi is dead and its all my fault.
I flashed the software, it finished and my system reported a flash failure and shutown to restart but never did
Can I fix this via the tech2 unit ?
I have the original software in a usb stick
    regards

    dave

Tech2 doesn't work on the Insignia.

MDI can flash the firmware, but I suspect it is the software you have corrupted.

Really not sure what to suggest as I've never had to try to recover one yet.

You spend a few £000 on the MDI and the laptop, register a company, register that with opel, pay your fees and you can do it. Then that may only do the firmware side, but if it is the software that is corrupt, it won't help.

This kit isn't for the casual owner to have and use.

You are better off trying to find someone with the kit and access to opels systems.

I'm not sure if there is a software update CD, it just depends how badly you have killed it.

Cheers pecky, I have just visited vauxhall who have told me that the head unit is not communicating through the MDI system. probably because the flash eeprom is corrupt. The unit has power but not kicking into life. Does anybody know anything about this head unit. part no 2273981? I need to access the eeprom to flash the source files back onto it. probably via the usb connector in the armrest. I think its a win ce operating system. I have the files.

I don't sell looms separately I'm afraid, I only have enough to cover the kits.

If it doesn't kick to life, how do you expect to be flashed through usb connector? I'm afraid you can keep it on the shelf for a while now.
