    CD30 MP3 swap question?

    Hello all,

My original CD30 MP3 crashed. It doesn't accept CD's. I've bought a used unit, which is in very good condition.

It hasn't been reset from previous car, but I have its security code.

New unit which I want to put in my car has security code - 0036.

My car's security code is 4800. I won't change the display, only the player. My faulty CD30 MP3 I will give it to a friend of mine. He wants to listen only radio in his Zafira. And I have to reset it from my car via OP-Com right?

Could you please advise what is the procedure to do this via Op-Com?

    What are correct steps?

    Thanks!

      Found it, in this forum

      1. With your cd30 in car deactivate theft protection with your car pass
      2. Put cd30mp3 in car activate theft protection with code provided with new radio (if unit divorced from donor car go to step 4)
      3. Deactivate theft protection again using code provided with radio
      4. Activate theft protection using code from your car pass
      Job Done

And it is really done. All okay now.

      Hello again,

I noticed a problem with the new CD30 MP3, which I do not have any idea how to solve.

So I paired my new CD30 MP3 as described, but I do not have illumination on it.

Only when I reduce illumination intensity by the potentiometer, when value is low (~10-15 % as per hidden menu) I can see illumination on the headunit appeares.

With increasing illumination by potentiometer, illumination on the headunit reduces. When I'm on 100% on the dashboard and clima, I do not have any illuminated buttons on the player.

Another thing: then I pressed and hold "Settings" in order to enter hidden meny, normally headunit "Beaps" on the tenth second - now this sound is so loud, so when I heard it for first time I jumped on the seat. It was good that I didn't enter sectret menu while I'm driving.....

I thought that my speakers will explode. The same loud "Beap", when I deactivate theft protection on the headunit and it displays "Radio safe" on display.

Tried to deactivate theft protection and then activate it coule of times, without any success.

Any other functions on the unit are fully operational.

Could you please give me some hint in order to resolve this problem?

It looks like programming of headunit is not possible via Op-Com? I do not see any entries in code index list and audio index list.

I should do it with Tech2, perhaps?

      Fixed.

With genuine OP-Com code index was changed to 002 and audio index was chaged to 021.

New CD30 Mp3 is fully operational now.

      Thank you for your support!

Yes and it was solved with this great forum and all experieced people here, which give valuable advices.

My first though was the new unit has some hardware problems.

Problem was something tottaly different than hardware.

Thank you once again for advice given.

I hope ti find a dump for my KS CID and finally fix it as well.
