Ok sorry. The cid doesn't dim or alter in anyway when the lights are turned on.

It doesn't light up with the ignition on also.

      Problem found thats a screen
Vectra screen isn't compatible with meriva, corsa c so it doesn't get any can messages as they are different to what it's waiting for and that means it won't send any messages to cd70 thats a reason why you don't get ignition on/off illumination and steering controls

Is it fixable in the slightest way ? Meriva cid screens are rare and expensive.

I paid £100 for this cd70, cid , rgb and genuine nav disk. A cid screen for the Meriva is 3 times this amount.

Cd70 should work you can check it with you original screen and see what it does
But with screen its bit difficult as there isn't much of them with cids fitted to make dump or read mcu
Will scratch my head and will see maybe something will come in mind

Brilliant and thank you for your help.

If I could just get the illumination and on/off working I'm not to bothered on the rest.

      Thank you again.

Just an update, you are correct the screen is the issue.

With the cd70 and standard 2 line screen it works fine, got display safe message but that's because they aren't paired together.

Yep as it controls radio if screen doesn't get right messages from can it won't send any to radio
Will look around for solution i know that vectra gid can be made to work in corsa but cid hasn't been tried yet but im sure it can
Will let you know when will find something
Last scenario can be to build can bus translator but it will involve checking hundreds of message lines and finding out needed ones

      Thank you for your help.

A local breakers have a vivaro cid and paired cd70. Ice been told this will work in a meriva.

The cid part number is GM 13156843.

Would you know if this is compatible with a meriva ?

      Cheers
