ASTRA 1.4 Steering wheel radio controls

    Hi !

    ASTRA 1.4 sxi twinport 2007

I've replaced my CD30 with a nice 2 din radio with sat nav and fancy stuff .
All is working well but wondered if its possible to wire the steering wheel controls.
The radio has a learn function and wires key1 and key2 to wire up to the host steering wheel control A/D
trying to find out the plug connections to see if they are in it , I did have them from here about a year ago but cannot find them now !
    Thanks

Anyone any pointers or info please..

    Paul

      Not sure Paul.

From factory the scroll wheels connects to the CIM and that then uses a canbus message.

Do you need to use a physical connection to the switch?

Hi Pecky have you settled in your new home ? hope it all went smooth !

Its saying that its a fairly universal system It has 2 wires key1 and key2 and says to connect it to host A/C
you then put the radio in "Steering wheel control learning" and press the steering wheel key/ then the corresponding one on the screen of the radio and it learns that key !

Ie press physical volume up then press volume up on the screen of the radio and it then knows what key does what ..

it can learn and assign up to 12 physical controls on the wheel just threw these 2 wires.. ..
      If that makes sense !

Back again.. I never did get this resolved.. I've bought another radio that has the same setup of wires.. This appears to have a ground /key 1/key 2 wires...
I know most of the wires on the plug.. Speakers /ground/power, but still some are not used guessing these are can bus and those not used on the retro fit radio..
Question now is... Is there's a diagram showing all the wires.. So I can ponder a possible way round this..
      Thank you
      Paul
