    Smile combo fails

    Hi all.
I have a 53plate corsa combo 1.7di. few months back put new DCU on at rear of engine. cleared all faults trained and runs great......with an exception of the following:

    1. when idle at lights say, it is searching or surging. Revs are up and down from 500 to 800, but does not do this all the time only occasionally? Checked with vauxhall diagnostics and came back no faults, even though it was doing it at the time?

    2. suddenly all lights came on and engine just stopped working, lights went off. Small orange light off a car with a spanner through it. After six attempts van started and drove off ok? just been back to have fault diagnostics (another £85 quid) and it came back again......NO Faults?

Can anyone give me more info from these please?

    Regards
    Welderman.

      Hi,

Unfortunately, I don't know too much personally about the engine side of cars as I'm not a mechanic.

Hopefully someone else may be able to point you in the right direction.

You need to repair the engine.

Seeing as how this dead thread was revived, I shall stick my oar in. Uneven idle speed is often caused by a faulty Idle Air Control Valve. Check your air filter and intake system for leaks/blockages/damage, then check your throttle body is clean. Finally, check the IAC solenoid valve. Usually, this means check by substitution, unless it is obviously sticking or damaged.
