Thats a preface vectra cim?
Hi guys,
I've been working through decoding the various modules on the astra im using a upa-usb but im now stuck on a cim with the mcu Motarola MC9S12DG128 112pin. ive soldered on to the pcb close to pins 23, 40 and 41, I've lifted the reset pin 42 but when I try to read all I get is "device not respond" I have cheked with the upa voltmeter and with one of my own, Vdd is 4.75v, Vss is 0v.
Any ideas welcome.
Regards Mark
Thats a preface vectra cim?
Some of these mcu are tricky and most of time they need to be removed completely to read.
It's from an astra. I really was hoping you wouldn,t say that.
Eh but i must say it, had early vectra cim with key recognising problem mcu was only working when it was heated up with heat gun and guess it was motorolla
If you want to work with loads of mcu's i advise u getting IR heater with preaheater and for soldering use solder paste
Thanks for the info, i'll take it off at the weekend and give it a try.
Well hope you will get it working and be aware that they can be encrypted and u dont see what you expect, for astra in cim look for keys and pins as 2nd keys can be got working on astra manualy placing them dump
Any results ?
7cc-7cd in mcu I believe eeprom is 658 but is encrypted and If I put algo here it would not be fair on Richard so wont
